World Series Sprintcars -  Round 1 @ Kwinana.

Wow what a line up of star studded racers from all around the world. First Class Equipment every where and some First Class Drivers too.

With the Australian Dollar at a near all time record high it allows nearly every team to have the best of everything and close to equal equipment. The only major differences are the Driver and of course the Crew Chiefs.

The race track was good for hot laps but started to go away in the later part of time trials with 45 cars on hand. We drew 36th pill to go out and do our best 2 laps possible, after our 2 laps we were sitting in 16th spot. Not 2 bad we thought as we were pretty rusty after the lack of laps we have had since we parked the car from last season in March. (Wow where did those 8 months go).

Heat race 1 was pretty bad for us as the rusty driver didn’t get into the first turn well and dropped back, Waaay Back. With the caliber of drivers its hard to make back what you loose but I gave it a good shot only to have the race cut short by the stewards as we were moving back forward to 8th.

Heat 2 was a little bit like the first but the only car to pass us was The Aussie champ, so I guess that wasn’t what we wanted but he wasn’t rusty was he.  We were as fast as most but couldn't pass Peter Lack to move forward and 7th was all we could do.

Not moving forward in out heats really hurt us bad and we were basically at the rear of the "B" starting 13th.  We figured we should be able to move forward as the guys were doing a great job with the set up on the Maxim Chassis and the Awesome 410 Maxwill Motor has what we need to Motor Forward. We only needed to get up to 6th to make the transfer but once again the stewards dealt us a bad hand and cut 3 laps of the 15 lap B Main at the start and another 3 laps off the end when Kerry Madsen’s Rocket came to a stop on the main straight. 9 laps is a bit of a task for anyone to transfer into the "A" but when we were only one spot out and the race cut short like that tends to leave a sour taste in ones mouth.

Night 2, Round 2 @ Kwinana.

After last nights ordeal and the temperature around 36deg the track was going to be the hard task for tonight, not just for us but for everybody.

The race track was pretty good for hot laps and OK for Time Trials but it was starting to show signs that it was going to be a hard to handle track. We went out as the 22nd car and timed a poor 26th fast time, or 26th slow time depends how you look at it. That put us on the front row of the heat race and that’s when we hauled the Big Black 51 into the first turn and never looked back to go on and win the first heat and set the fastest time of the night on the second lap of the heat,(Why couldn't I have done that 3 laps before), the track was fast and the car was awesome to drive but it tore 2 new tires of the rear in 10 laps. Not good for the budget!!!!!

The next heat we started on the front row again but we were smoked at the start and the car wasn't as good to drive and the track was getting really slick and I could not find a part of the race track that suited our car and dropped back to 6th.

The guys tried their best to get the set up turned around and we were starting out of 7th for the b main, we only had to move forward one spot and make the "A".
We were worse than the heat before and I couldn’t get comfortable with the car and backed up with the speed of the guys moving forward. As it turns out it was probably a good thing as it turned out to be THE WORST  "A" Feature race I have ever seen and was actually glad I was not a part of it .Credit to the Winner but it was a disgrace to the stewards and a pity for the crowd to sit through that.

There are always 2 sides to a story and that is my opinion. We have one way communication from the stewards and they are supposed to be in control but they weren't this time and the track was to blame. As there was no race track to race on, Credit must go to Luch Monte, Ben Ellement and John Lidlow for Running up on the wall of the real race track and not running on the Bike Track and the infield like the others.

At this time I am currently in Adelaide to run there tonight, as my Kalgoorlie run was good. I will give you an update when I return.

Time to thank all the Crew, Family and Friends for their support that we have had so far this season and Look Forward to Catching Up with everyone at the Race Track.

Happy 9th Birthday to my son Aj who’s birthday is today, I will try extra hard to do well tonight buddy.
