From the racer’s wife……..

Well it’s been awhile since my last entry, and hasn’t the time gone by so quickly.
With the kids on school holidays and Allan’s racing schedule over the past 2 months I haven’t been able to sit down and put my fingers to the keyboard.

So the past 2 months have been busy here at ANR headquarters. What with going over East for speedweek, Tiff and I then went to Bali for a week whilst Allan and Aj headed over East to watch some racing ( father/son bonding), then getting back into our own races over here.
Pheww where do I start.

As the story goes….. Allan really wanted to do Speedweek; we had discussed it many times. I made a pact with him that if he could come up with $10 grand of sponsorship he could. Well bugger me, 3 weeks before, he rang a few close business associates and came up with the money. I should have known from past bets that he would have gotten the cash… stupid me should have said 20….. So we were off, flights booked, hotels booked. Truck and transporter on the way.
By the way don’t ever make a bet with racer unless you’re sure your going to win…hehehe. Gee u would think I’d have learnt after having to make coffee for 10 years because I lost a bet to him……And yes I fulfilled my bet!!!!!!

Arriving in Adelaide Christmas Night we were ready for a week of full on racing.
I always enjoy heading over East, it gives me time to catch up with many friends over yonder. The boys from Lightning Karts are great friends of ours and we always enjoy spending time with them and their wives/girlfriends. Even though speedweek can be hectic, what with the traveling and working on the cars I just seem to really enjoy the different atmosphere.
We would have liked to have done better, but overall we were happy. For our team it was always about giving Allan more time in the seat, more laps and giving Lee our crew chief more experience of learning different tracks, different setups. We had a few mishaps, hurt our 410 on the 1st night, but we were determined not to let that get us down.
Good times….awesome racing….good friends – new & old

Special thanks must go to the following people who made it possible…..
Oamps Insurance, Colonial Freightlines, Jolly Good Auto Electrics, Triple J Haulage.

To Ford Keane from Daimler/ Chrysler for the Van you supplied….gee I could tell you some funny stories the guys were coming out with on those long drives from track to track.

To Tam, her family and the Tatnell traveling fan club, thanks for saving me and the kids a seat from track to track. We will see you guys again in March.

Big thanks must also go to our crew, Lee, Higgy & Karl, these guys put a lot of energy and effort in over Speedweek to make sure we could run night in night out; it was tough and tiring for all but they managed to keep us going.
To Des, Allan’s Dad thanks for keeping the wheels moving on the truck.

This week sees us heading down to Bunbury for the Open State Title, then the following week for a 2 night header at Kwinana with the 360 and 410, then back to Bunbury for the Krikke Boys Race. We then head off to Adelaide for the 360 National Title, the Masters in Adelaide then the Easter Trail. Busy times ahead for the ANR race team!!!

Congratulations must go to Nsw # 11 Mark Brown on winning the 1st Magic Man Memorial Speedcar Race.
You’re awesome Browndog………..Good luck for the upcoming title we’ll be cheering you on mate…..

Until next time…
From the racer’s wife…Take care
